Hello. My name is Katherine Therrell. I am delighted that you are visiting my website. Because the counseling relationship is crucial to the counseling outcome, it is important that you feel comfortable with your therapist. Therefore, I would like to tell you a bit about myself.
My master's degree in education from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro prepared me for many successful years of teaching in public and private schools. Additional graduate work at Murray State, Vanderbilt, Western Kentucky, and The University of Louisville prepared me for a second career in counseling as an employee of the State of Kentucky. But it was my life experiences that gave me the passion for my work, the compassion for people, and the courage to venture into private practice as a licensed professional counselor. I am a Christian who believes that there is absolute truth, that sin has consequences, that there is forgiveness available through Christ, and that prayer is a very powerful force. I do not expect all of my clients to share my faith, but I do expect them to understand that these are the principles that guide my life and spill over into my profession.
I am a daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, care provider, and entrepreneur--a typical "baby boomer" woman who never wants to stop learning, growing, sharing, and making a difference.
